Remove Windows XP Genuine Advantage Notification

1. The first thing to do is to stop the process that makes the Windows XP Genuine Advantage Notification appear. What you will do is press ctrl + alt + delete in your keyboard, a windows task manager will appear. Look for a process "wgatray.exe", select that process then click"End Process" button below the process box. Click yes to end the process.

2. Second is to look for wgatray.exe in windows system 32 folder and dllcache. What you will do is go to C:\windows\system32\ and C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache . When you are in the folder look for wgatray.exe, when you found the files, delete it or you can rename it whatever you want. dllcache folder has a hidden attribute, please enable show hidden files in folder option.

3. Third is to delete the folder "WGALOGON" in the registry located in the following location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinlogonNotify.

Delete all references in your registry that deals with WgaTray.exe

4. Restart your computer and it will now make your computer look good. You can now change your wallpaper in case it turns black because of what happen.
